Senior secondary


  • Students from year 11 – 12 are part of our senior secondary school. Senior secondary curriculum is delivered under the 5 subject organisers of the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) which are:
    Communication and Technology 
    Community, Citizenship and Environment
    Leisure and Recreation
    Personal and Living dimensions and 
    Vocation and Transition. 
    The content under each subject organiser is individualised for each student according to their personal Senior Education Transition Plan (SETP). 
    Your child may be enrolled in one or more VET certificate courses  offered through Special Education Training Alliance (SETA) that taught by VET trained school staff.  These courses are overseen and managed by SETA central RTO based at Western Suburbs Special School(RTO 41021). On successful completion of the course your child will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification.   If your child does not complete the full qualification they will receive a Statement of Attainment outlining the units that have been completed successfully.
